At DREAM MAKER MURALS Joie offers both an imaginative painting mural and interior design service.
Offering you a creative and full way to live.

1/ CHILDREN’S MURALS
Would you like to have a personalised mural painted with your own visions brought to life in your bedroom, garden or building? Together we can conjure out of our imaginations and hearts visuals you can not wait to wake to. From painting a sun moon theme head board to a wild forest, under water theme.
Each painting pushes to offer you meaningful and imaginative ideas beyond your standard Disney themes. The key difference with Dream Maker Murals is they believe in space creation and art as a tool for transformation and healing. The designs will be tailor made to your needs and personal dreams.

2/ HEALING MURALS
Or are you looking to create a healing atmosphere, where the mural will offer daily energetic inspiration that raises your well being.
Could be for our own living room, or a range of therapeutic spaces like yoga studio’s, swimming pools, therapy spa rooms or hospitals…
Joie is a very sensitive empathic artist who works with you to discover your souls needs and than intuitively translates through the use of color, form and energetic feeling of the painting.
She is a Reiki and massage therapist and often receive messages of the energetic body through visuals.
You can create energizing, relaxing, empowering scenes around your house, hospital or schools. Paintings that speak to the soul.

3/ SPACE CREATION
In addition to the mural painting Joie can design and deliver matching decoration and basic furnishings to bring to life your visions even more.
She trained in furniture design with a history working in interactive theater and set design, theraputic installation deisgn. She can put her hand to working with many materials and deliver imaginative 3d spaces.
She currently rents a workshop space at the Remakery in Brixton where the work can be carried out. Most decorations will try and be recycled and up-cycled.

COSTS

MURAL PAINTING AND CRAFT MAKING
£20 an hour for mural painting and interior designing and crafting. The final cost quoted will also include costs for travel, materials and hiring of any scaffolding if needed.

As a muralist Joie paints in a whole range of styles and with diverse clients and environments. She loves painting for children, adults and Communities. Working Independently, one to one, or with schools and small groups. For residential, stage & retail commercial commissions.

STYLES
Joie is both playful, intuitive, sensitive, deep and imaginative. She works intuitively responding to a persons true emotional, physical, mental or spiritual needs whilst pulling on visuals, color and metaphors that are appropriate. Her style varies from child to adult. She tends to be more playful and imaginative, whilst adults perhaps offer ideas of depth. Each aspect here will be well considered in relation to their healing qualities. For example color therapy uses the visible spectrum of light and color to affect a person’s mood and physical or mental health. Each color falls into a specific frequency and vibration, which many believe contribute to specific properties that can be used to affect the energy and frequencies within our bodies. This is the same with form and narrative. But often joie will listen carefully, reflect and let visuals come through surrounding that persons dream.

MATERIALS
Joie currently work with emulsion paints, acrylics, pencils, water color.
Once completed the mural can be given coats of varnish or protective acrylic glaze to protect the work from UV rays and surface damage.

LOCATION
She lives in Surrey and is available for mural and art commissions within London and further if it is a long term contract and free accommodation is offered.

History as a muralist Mentor
Joie started painting murals at the age of 9 for her friends in the street. then was taken under the wing of an assentric ex Art and sculptor teacher from W imbledon who was afriend of the family.

She later went on to do art and design A level (A), Foundation at Chelsea College of Art and design)Distinction), BA Hons in Product and Furniture design at Ravensbourne college of design and communication(2:2), Animation course at London college of Printing, Interactive mix media training at Fork Beard Fantasy. Joie has worked across a range of artistic disciplines from decorative Wood craft, Graphic design, live art performances, to Set design, land art, prop design, animation, campaigning to large scale mural painting.

Joie alongside has been on a spiritual mission for past 5 years where she is now finding herself drawn to personal developemnet work andhealing through the arts and nature.
She has attended many mentoring and facilitating programmes, journeys and workshop picking up many ideas. Her mentoring style is based on a combination of experiences and understandings she has gained in her life whilst meditating, facilitating therapeutic installations, living with shamans in the woods and techniques from The catalyst course at embercombe and the work that reconnects by Joanna Macy. It is also inspired by Bio energy meditation (Shaking) where Joie is a practitioner for the last year.

Commissioning a Mural
The process

Stage 1 – Initial Contact and Estimates

The process begins with an informal chat about your ideas and wish’s by phone or by email, where we can discuss what you would like, and your budget. From here Joie can make some quick simple sketches on site and give you a quote in a couple of days.

Stage 2 – Consultation

Bigger jobs may require a visit to the site where a meeting is arranged.
Consultations can also be done over Skype video calls.
There is no charge for consultation, but I may ask for travel costs to be covered. Joie will come and measure walls, take photos, and discuss the subject matter deeper get to know more about yourself and ideas.

Stage 2 Deposit and Costs

Joie requires a deposit paid at the start of a job, and this deposit will be 50% of the quoted total price. The rest of the money will be payable in weekly installments, throughout the duration of the job. The amount of each installment will be worked out from the total quoted price divided by the estimated work time, with the final installment due on completion. Added costs on top of that for hiring scaffolding, material, paint and travel. Prices can obviously vary depending on what people want, Joie charges by the hour, so the estimate is based on how long I think this will be. she charges £20 an hour, £30 an hour for mural painting and private tutoring as added service.
This is good to know when your deciding what you want, because the more detailed the painting the longer the time.

Stage 3 Design Development

Joie will go away and do some research into the desired subject, brain storming and then finally will turn her idea into a colored sketch. If you are happy with the design Joie may continue to take the sketch into a more realistic visual digitally photoshop piece of art ready to copy to the wall. She chooses to use the computer so she can push and have more freedom to experiment with adjustments quickly for you.

Stage 3 – The work

If you are happy with the proposed design, cost and work schedule, we can then set a date to begin. This is when we go a head with ordering the paints and any equipment needed.
After you have completed any clearing of the space or repairing if needed to walls then a visit will take place where I will begin by covering the ground with sheeting.
She will initially put the base coat on to dry and return.
From the pdf file I will begin to grid up on the wall and sketch out the mural by pencil.
Joie can start building up the base colors and work forward in detail.
The detail work is the most time consuming and tedious, but also the most fun. This is when you can really see the mural coming to its finished state.

Then a grand Opening!

Working hours are 9.30 to 5.30pm with 30 minutes for break and couple of 5 minute tea breaks in between.
